Barnes Family Photographs

Taking advantage of the fall color and the warm temperatures the Barnes family and I went out to Woodward Park in North Fresno to take family portraits. With rolling grassy hills and a large pond it was easy to find locations that featured the family as well as the beauty of Woodward Park.

Central Valley Farmers Markets

It is at the farmers markets held throughout the many California Central Valley towns that the participants can find many different and wonderful types of produce. Fresno, Visalia, Reedley, Kingsburg, and Hanford all participate. Many of the produce items available at farmers markets can be seen in the photographs that I have taken while shopping for my farm grown produce.
Many people don’t understand how wonderful fresh produce can be, fresh right from the farm into my bag to take home and eat. A peach ripened on the tree is much …

Stomp at Fresno Saroyan Theater

Several weeks ago, on May 19, 2009, I was asked to fill in for my friend over at Third Element Studios on a photo shoot for Visalia Direct Medias‘ local publication of Lifestyle magazine. On very short notice I took the gig and attended the concert to get the photographs posted above. Stomp is a very loud beet driven musical with each person playing a non vocal part in the play. Instruments include the following non-musical objects: zippo, newspaper, garbage bag, and yes even the kitchen sink. Their tribal beat …

MCC at FPU

Things may never be as we remember them being, but we can always celebrate the consistency of the things that we have taken part in. Every year for as long as I can remember and as long as my wife’s parents can remember, Fresno Pacific University has been host to the MCC sale. The MCC sale is put on to help the Mennonite Central Committee in their efforts to see Christs’ work throughout the world.
Though a reasonable day trip away from Visalia as a child I remember visiting the MCC …

Dai Bai Dang has some of the best tasting Chinese food that I have tasted in quite some time. The taste far beyond the bland tastes that many are used to at places such as Pickup Stix’s or other fast food style Chinese restaurants. The tastes of the entre’s rival the tastes of small family owned Chinese restaurants while giving the feel of a large chain, offering a large dining area with semi private booths for those looking for a good place to take a date.
While the food is amazing, …

No matter all of the aspirations I have had to see this band or that band due to it being the hip thing to do I have only gone to concerts that I have also worked at, wither photographing them or directing the lights, that has really been the only ticket that has gotten me to concerts.
Trying to be a little spontaneous this week with the Fresno Fair in town I decided that it would be fun to go to the fair and even more fun to be able to …

I was graciously invited to a Fresno Grizzlies Baseball http://fresnogrizzlies.com/ game by a friend from work, Ben Brady (http://www.firewallreporting.com). It was a very fun game to watch though there wasn’t a whole lot of action until right near the end of the game when the Portland Beavers (http://www.portlandbeavers.com/) came from behind to win the game. The Beavers took advantage of a pitcher change near the end of the game to get men on the bases and bring them home with a couple of good hits.
