Opening with an electric guitar version of “The Star Spangled Banner” this years Kingsburg Swedish Festival Dala Horse Trot was held under much better conditions compared to the year prior. This years Dala Horse Trot competitors were blessed with a run held within the city limits and under mostly shaded streets.

With the nice warm spring sun at their backs it was a wonderful day to be outside, and living in California’s Central Valley, and a great day for a softball game. Though the CVC Lady Cavalier Varsity Softball team had a hard time getting the runs necessary to beat Mission Oaks High both fans and athletes would have been hard pressed to find a better day to be on the softball diamond. Though the course was wet and the weather threatened rain throughout the morning the Hensley Lake Tri-This du-athlon went off without an major injury. Photographs are now available here.
Starting with the young racers on a shortened course there was a race for everyone’s skill level. The event consisted of a trail running race followed by a mountain bike course. Tri-This was started by Brandon Dorman in hopes to inspire young athletes experience the benefits of a healthy life style.

CVC Cavalier Men’s Varsity Team came out strong in their game against the Selma Bears winning the contest without much of a contest, the well practiced Cavalier’s run up and down the court making basket after basket.

Under the leadership of coach Neal CVC’s women’s basket ball came out strong to the court ready to play the eagles, with the score always close enough it was anyone’s game. The women Cavaliers did wrap up the game in their favor, with the final couple of points moving the cavaliers out of reach of the Eagles being scored by #32.(name purposely omitted)
